 Remembering the Legacy of Chief Dr. Cairo Ojougboh: A Tribute from Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi and the SDP




The passing of a prominent figure in Delta State has left many in mourning, as Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, the governorship candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has expressed his deep sorrow at the sudden death of Chief Dr. Cairo Ojougboh.


Chief Ojougboh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), passed away on February 7th, 2024 while watching the AFCON match between Nigeria and South Africa in Abuja. Gbagi, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kenneth Orusi, described Dr. Ojougboh as a good man and a close friend, and expressed his shock at the news of his death.


As a former Minister of State for Education, Gbagi emphasized the importance of upholding the ideals and contributions of the deceased for the betterment of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole. He recognized Dr. Ojougboh's significant role within the APC and acknowledged that his absence will be deeply felt in his community and beyond.



On behalf of his family and the SDP, Gbagi extended his prayers for God's mercy upon Dr. Ojougboh and for the strength of those mourning his loss. He also emphasized the impact that Dr. Ojougboh's legacy will continue to have on the society, noting that his contributions will not be forgotten.

The passing of Chief Dr. Cairo Ojougboh is a great loss for Delta State, and his memory will be cherished for years to come. Gbagi and the SDP join in mourning his passing and extend their deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
