SDP Governorship Candidate, Kenneth Gbagi Rejects Tribunal Judgement and Vows to Pursue Legal Options for Justice.


Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has rejected the judgement of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Gbagi expressed his disagreement with the judgement and his determination to exhaust every legal process available to him. 


The former chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria described the judgement striking out the 5th to 13th Respondents from his petition as "ridiculous" and "laughable". While acknowledging that the tribunal was the ultimate authority on the matter at the State level, Gbagi believes that the responsibility now rests with the Appeal Court, which he has confidence in. 


Gbagi thanked his legal team, the Social Democratic Party, and those who attended the court proceedings. He expressed his unwavering determination to pursue justice, not only for himself but also for the multitude of supporters and Deltans in general whose electoral mandate was unjustly thwarted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the March 18th election.


Gbagi dragged the candidates of the People Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) before the tribunal, seeking their disqualification. He believes that Delta State must be liberated, and he rejects the judgement in its entirety. 


It is important to note that Gbagi is not giving up on his pursuit of justice and is pursuing every legal avenue available to him. The outcome of the Appeal Court's decision will be eagerly anticipated by Gbagi and his supporters.
